Quantum technologies promise to dramatically boost our capabilities in secure communication, fast computation, precise metrology, and efficient simulation of quantum many-body systems. To harness their full potential, it is crucial to efficiently characterize, verify, and learn the key properties of large and intermediate quantum systems and devices with high precision. However, traditional tomographic methods are too resource-intensive to apply. This has led to the emergence of Quantum Characterization, Verification, and Validation (QCVV) as an active research field, addressing these challenges with innovative approaches. Recent advancements, such as randomized quantum measurements, have opened new possibilities, while significant hurdles remain. To foster collaboration and tackle these pressing issues, we are organizing the Second International Workshop on QCVV on August 19-22 in Shanghai. This workshop will bring together leading experts, junior researchers, and students to share insights, discuss cutting-edge developments, and explore solutions to key challenges in the field. We invite you to join us in advancing quantum science and technologies.
